We are looking for a SDE 3 who can design, build, and optimize complex backend systems while driving best practices and mentoring the team.
- Employment Type : Contract (Directly with US entity, cash-only component until India entity setup)
- Location : Remote (Bangalore-based, with weekly in-person meetups)
Key Responsibilities :
Backend Architecture & Development : Design and implement highly scalable, distributed systems using Node.js (Express / NestJS).API Design & Microservices : Architect RESTful and GraphQL APIs ensuring efficiency, security, and maintainability.Database Engineering : Work extensively with PostgreSQL, optimizing for performance, indexing, and query tuning.Scalability & Performance Optimization : Design systems that can handle high throughput and low latency, ensuring reliability.Event-Driven Architecture : Implement Kafka or RabbitMQ for real-time data processing and inter-service communication.Infrastructure & Cloud : Deploy and manage backend services on AWS using Terraform for IaC.Observability & Monitoring : Set up logging, monitoring, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch.Security & Compliance : Ensure best practices in authentication, authorization, and data security.Mentorship & Leadership : Guide junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive engineering excellence.Key Requirements :
5+ years of backend engineering experience with deep expertise in Node.js (Express.js or NestJS).Strong experience in architecting microservices and distributed systems.Expertise in PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, query optimization.Solid understanding of event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ).Experience with cloud-native development on AWS.Proficiency in Docker & Kubernetes for containerized deployments.Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.Deep knowledge of CI / CD, observability, and system monitoring.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance speed and stability in a startup environment.Nice to Have :
