Director, Engineering As Director, you will be the technical and people leader for the development of an enterprise AI application reducing waste in the supply chain space. You will work with a high performing team of wonderful humans to scale the application and shape advanced feature development.

Daybreak’s products are solving very complex problems in modern global supply chains with innovative technology and AI / ML. Responsibilities You will provide technical leadership to engineering squad for our Supply Chain AI product. You will own development of product and related services, coordinating and communicating with stakeholders from across the organization, including non-technical functions. You will set high standards for technical work by setting up CI / CD workflows, high level design reviews, Code reviews, Test suite reviews. You will take up the most complex problems and contribute hands on by laying a strong foundation & scaffolding on which team can build. You are an empathic leader who communicates candidly and compassionately, creating an environment of psychological safety and inclusion in your team that fosters continuous learning, innovation, and collaborative work focused on the team goals over individual success. You will ensure the organization has appropriately high technical competence and strives for excellence in your function. You will stay abreast of industry trends and standards and champion necessary changes to maintain competitive advantage & engineering excellence. You will take up ownership stake in managing technical escalations for your function / team / squad. Grow the Supply Chain AI Product Engineering team by hiring as well as developing engineers within the existing team - You will actively shape hiring strategies, write job descriptions, participate in hiring manager or engineering leadership interviews for your function / team / squad. You will be the face of Daybreak Engineering in-front of both internal & external stakeholders as a technical subject matter expert for Daybreak product strategy & architecture. You will define & implement appropriate metrics related to people, process & technology to proactively manage business risks.

About You Must Have

12- 15 years of experience as a Software development manager / director for a complex B2B software product (preferably an enterprise SaaS product) Experience as a people leader managing a team of at least 8-10 people and acting as a force multiplier – inspiring, empowering, supporting, and aligning the team to build a great product together. Development background (

need to be hands-on in recent roles

preferably with Python, SQL, React JS etc. on a data intensive software product Experience deploying open-source systems to production at scale Experience with OO programming (Python is ideal) Fluent in SQL and NoSQL databases Experience with distributed computing for a data-intensive software application (ex. Analytics, AI, BI) Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, managing expectations, proactively communicating, and collaboratively solving problems in ways that optimize for the larger team’s success. Experience driving workload management and managing the prioritization of a backlog of work. Understanding of components in a well architected SaaS, familiarity with DevOps as a culture, Test driven development etc.

Nice to Have Experience or conceptual understanding of AI / ML SaaS, MLE / MLOps, DataOps will be a big plus Customer facing experience leading implementations or adoptions of product / platform is a plus Experience in Supply Chain domain, especially integrating with common systems of enterprise supply chain tech stack will be an advantage Experience working with a global team is a big advantage
