Ascendion - Senior Automation Test Engineer - API Testing

About the Role :

Ascendion is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer with specific expertise in AccelQ to join our Quality Assurance team. With over 6 years of dedicated experience in test automation, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test suites, with a strong focus on both UI and API automation, leveraging the AccelQ platform. You will collaborate with development teams, product owners, and other QA engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and contribute to the delivery of high-quality software products. This role requires proficiency in automation tools, particularly AccelQ, and experience with API testing using tools like SoapUI, Rest Assured, and Postman, with the ability to join us on a short notice Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automation test scripts using the AccelQ platform.
• Implement Automation strategies and frameworks for various applications and systems.
• Perform extensive API Automation testing using industry-standard tools such as SoapUI, Rest Assured, and Postman.
• Gain a deep understanding of API Authentication methods and implement strategies for securely testing authenticated APIs.
• Create reusable automation components and libraries within AccelQ.
• Execute automated test suites and analyze test results to identify defects.
• Document test cases, test results, and defect reports accurately and comprehensively.
• Collaborate closely with developers and other QA engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Participate in the planning, design, and execution of testing activities within an Agile development environment.
• Integrate automated tests into CI / CD pipelines to support continuous testing efforts.
• Identify opportunities for automation framework improvement and contribute to enhancing test coverage and efficiency.
• Stay updated with the latest features and best practices of AccelQ and other automation tools.
• Mentor junior automation engineers if required.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage testing activities across multiple Qualifications :
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum of 6+ years of overall experience in software quality assurance or testing.
• Minimum of 6+ years of relevant hands-on experience specifically in Automation Skills & Experience :
• Strong hands-on experience with Automation test design and execution.
• Proven expertise and experience using AccelQ for building and maintaining automation test suites.
• Extensive experience with API Automation using tools such as SoapUI, Rest Assured, and Postman.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with various API Authentication methods (e.g., OAuth, API Keys, JWT).
• Experience working with RESTful and / or SOAP APIs.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies and best practices.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Must be available to join with a notice period of Immediate to 20 days.
