Job Title : Engineering Manager (Power BI & Data Engineering)

Location : Hyderabad / Bangalore / Pune, India

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Engineering Manager to lead our Power BI and Data Engineering teams. With over 14 years of experience, including a strong focus on project management and team leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of data solutions, from robust data pipelines to insightful dashboards and reports. You will mentor and guide a team of talented engineers and developers, drive technical excellence, and ensure that projects align seamlessly with business objectives. This role requires expertise in data technologies, proficiency in Agile and SAFe methodologies, and proven leadership capabilities in a fast-paced, rotational shift Responsibilities :

• Lead, manage, and mentor multiple teams focused on Power BI development and Data Engineering initiatives.
• Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of business intelligence solutions, including data model design, ETL / ELT processes, dashboard creation in Power BI, and ongoing reporting enhancements.
• Ensure that project deliveries are on time, within scope, and meet the highest quality standards, aligning with defined business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Drive technical excellence within the teams, promoting best practices in coding, data modeling, platform usage, and solution design.
• Apply and champion Agile and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodologies to ensure smooth project execution, foster collaboration, and manage dependencies effectively.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration within the teams and across cross-functional departments, including product management, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams.
• Manage project planning activities, including scope definition, resource allocation, timeline estimation, and risk management.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional growth and development of team members.
• Troubleshoot and provide guidance on complex technical challenges faced by the teams.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in Power BI, Data Engineering, Azure Data Stack, and related technologies.
• Contribute to the definition of technical strategy and roadmap for the data and analytics Skills & Experience :
• 14+ years of overall experience in the software development and data domain.
• Extensive senior-level experience focusing on project management and leading engineering teams.
• Proven expertise in leading teams responsible for Power BI development and Data Engineering.
• Deep technical understanding and hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling (DAX), and report publishing.
• Strong background in Data Engineering concepts and practices.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Solid understanding of the Azure Data Stack (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database).
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) practices.
• Expertise in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience applying Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, including managing cross-functional team activities, motivating teams, and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Proven experience in project planning, execution, and delivery management.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making Skills & Experience :
• Experience with Kusto Query Language (KQL) is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with other data visualization tools.
• Experience with cloud data warehousing solutions.
• Certifications in relevant Microsoft Azure Data or Power BI domains.
