Job brief
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Storekeeper cum Purchase officer from hotel industry to manage all of the operations in our storeroom as well as buy products that are essential for our company’s day-to-day operations. You will have to review prices and quality and ensure optimal stock levels.
Responsibilities
- Maintain receipts, records, and withdrawals of the store room
- Receive, unload, and shelve supplies
- Perform other stock-related duties, including returning, packing, pricing, and labeling supplies
- Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies; report those to accounting for reimbursements and record keeping
- Rotate stock and coordinate the disposal of surpluses
- Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control
- Coordinate the handling of freight, the movement of equipment, and necessary minor repairs
- Research potential vendors
- Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
- Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Review quality of purchased products
- Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
- Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
- Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends
Requirements
Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory managementFamiliarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom or warehouse environmentAnalytical mind with ability to make accurate mathematical computationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCompetencies in data entry, analysis, and managementKeen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage timeProven experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or recordkeeping in hotel industry.Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Agent or similar role in hotel industryGood knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)Understanding of supply chain proceduresSolid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analysesBachelor’s degree in logistics, Business Administration or relevant fieldExperience : 2- 4years
