Community Solutions is a non-for-profit organisation operating as a commercial business, providing apprentices and trainees to a variety of different businesses throughout Queensland. We provide apprentices and trainees important career guidance and opportunity to earn while they learn. Dedicated Field Officers are assigned to apprentices and trainees to provide ongoing support to completing their chosen qualification.
The Traineeship
Based in Brisbane City, our host business is a government organisation that provides a range of transport infrastructure solutions and services and creating a single integrated transport system accessible to everyone. This is an awesome opportunity to work in a supportive and energetic office environment and gain hands on experience, with allocated time on the job to compete the certificate requirements of study. This opportunity would suit somebody who has deferred from university, recent school leavers and mature age candidates looking to upskill or reskill and is looking for "hands on" experience and a nationally recognised certificate that is highly regarded for all levels of administrative roles.
The successful candidate will provide efficient and effective administrative support to Management and Operations Centre personnel. The role is required to respond to enquiries from internal and external clients, maintain and update databases and other information systems, assist with financial, procurement and human resource (HR) processing activities, undertake record management duties and provide support to various operations personnel.
Other tasks include :
- Application of written and verbal communication skills with an ability to prioritise and organise tasks and work within established deadlines
- Provide business focused customer service to external and internal clients
- Computer and typing skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist with the maintenance of accurate, timely filing and record management
- Undertake arrangements and bookings for meetings / events and appropriate rooms / venues
- Possess a flexible work attitude and contribute positively within a team environment
- Continually develop skills and knowledge through participation in formal and informal training and professional development opportunities
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures at all times and escalate any identified issues to the relevant manager
- Act in accordance with the Queensland Public Service legislative framework and Code of Conduct. Model ethical behaviour and consistently apply those ethical standards to self and others.
What will you bring to the role?
Our team will help you develop during the traineeship, but there are some minimum requirements and key traits we’re looking for :
- Sound knowledge and application of Microsoft Office
- Higher School Certificate or similar qualification
- Strong attention to detail
- High work ethic and professionally presented
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Strong people skills and a customer focus / service background
- Reliable, punctual and have a good attendance record
- Provide two references
- Successful candidates will participate in a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol test
