About the Faculty :
Bond University's Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine has a multi-disciplinary base across various programs, including Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition and Dietetic Practice, Exercise and Sports Science, Health Sciences, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
The Healthcare Innovations discipline is responsible for a suite of postgraduate programs focused on the effective adoption of innovations into healthcare practice particularly directed at understanding healthcare needs, developing healthcare systems and services for effectiveness and sustainability, health workforce planning and knowledge translation.
The Faculty is also home to the Bond University Institute of Evidence-Based Healthcare. The Institute is a successful, multidisciplinary team established by Professor Paul Glasziou and headed by Professor Julie Redfern. The Institute delivers world-class research, engagement and training that serves as a national and international resource for scholars, clinicians, system leaders, patients and families in the implementation of evidence-based clinical care. The co-location of Healthcare Innovations and the Institute within the Faculty provides rich opportunities for collaborative research and engagement with healthcare services and the involvement of Institute staff in teaching of Healthcare Innovations programs.
About the Position :
The faculty is seeking to appoint to the Healthcare Innovations discipline at Assistant Professor A to contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of the Healthcare Innovations programs. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic team's teaching, learning, research, and community engagement activities. Core subjects include applied learning in health systems, education, evidence-based practice and knowledge translation, health service improvement, implementation, and innovation. They will demonstrate academic leadership, including mentoring and development of staff, and ongoing development of curriculum.
This position will be based at our main campus in Robina, but may be required to visit other sites, including Brisbane.
About the person
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant field, and relevant qualifications in healthcare, including nursing, allied health, public health, or healthcare management, with experience in health, social or community care settings.
Applicants will have extensive relevant experience in teaching and research within one or more of the following : healthcare systems, health service improvement, implementation, innovation, and evidence-based practice.
The successful candidate will :
Coordinate and teach subjects within the program, particularly those that support health service improvement and implementation;
Contribute to ongoing curriculum development of the Healthcare Innovations suite of programs;
Conduct research into areas relevant to disciplinary expertise and the program. Ideally, the focus will be on improving health services and systems, implementing new interventions, and supporting innovation;
Contribute to coordination and delivery of subjects within other programs of the faculty as appropriate to disciplinary expertise;
Collaborate with key health providers and partners to ensure feedback on healthcare priorities, services and system development, workforce needs, and relevant innovations are incorporated into the ongoing development of the program.
Salary details
The salary for the position commences at $160,204 plus 12% superannuation per annum. Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
This position will be based at our main campus in Robina, but may be required to visit other sites, including Brisbane.
