To ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance and stewardship across all phases of operations within the solar panel and battery manufacturing plant. This role will lead the implementation of proactive risk mitigation strategies, promote a culture of safety, and ensure sustainable and legally compliant environmental practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the HSE vision, policies, and systems aligned with corporate objectives and government regulations.
- Guide the organization towards a safety-first culture with clear KPIs for safety performance.
- Influence cross-functional teams to incorporate HSE into business planning and operational execution.
- Ensure compliance with Indian and international HSE laws, including Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, and Battery Waste Management Rules.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as MoEFCC, MPCB, and DISH for necessary approvals, inspections, and reporting.
- Oversee implementation of safety procedures specific to solar cell manufacturing (e.g., chemical handling) and battery production (e.g., lithium-ion risks).
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Monitor plant operations for potential environmental and safety hazards using modern risk assessment tools (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA).
- Design and execute regular safety drills, workshops, and certifications.
- Mentor site HSE managers and create a strong safety culture at all levels of the plant.
- Ensure behavioral safety programs and toolbox talks are embedded in daily routines.
- Sustainability and Environmental Management
- Develop programs for waste management, emissions control, water conservation, and clean energy usage.
- Implement ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 frameworks across the facility.
- Promote circular economy principles in battery lifecycle and solar module Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health, or related field.
- NEBOSH / IOSH Certification or equivalent HSE qualification mandatory.
- 15+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a large-scale manufacturing or energy plant.
- Deep understanding of solar and battery-specific safety and environmental risks.
