Responsibilities :
- Design and architect highly available, scalable, and secure Windows-based infrastructure solutions to meet current and future business needs.
- Develop comprehensive infrastructure blueprints, standards, and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance our Windows environment.
- Ensure designs align with security policies, compliance requirements, and disaster recovery plans.
- Lead and oversee the implementation and deployment of new Windows infrastructure components, including servers, storage, and related services.
- Configure and manage Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services.
- Implement and manage virtualization technologies, with a strong focus on VMware.
- Provide Tier-4 level support for complex Windows infrastructure issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
- Proactively monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
- Manage and maintain backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Implement and manage system monitoring tools and dashboards to provide comprehensive visibility into the infrastructure.
- Develop and implement automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline routine tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual errors.
- Drive the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles where applicable.
- Possess a strong understanding of network topologies, protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP), and network services.
- Implement and maintain security best practices within the Windows environment, including patch management, hardening, and access controls.
- Collaborate with the security team to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
- Design and implement hybrid and cloud-based Windows solutions (experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus).
- Manage and integrate Windows infrastructure with cloud services.
- Possess exceptional troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues across the Windows infrastructure stack.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement preventative measures.
- Lead and manage infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design documents, configuration guides,1 and operational procedures. -
Must-Have Skills and Experience :
Extensive Windows Server Administration : 16+ years of deep, hands-on experience in managing and administering Windows Server operating systems (all recent versions).Tier-4 Support Expertise : Proven experience in providing Tier-4 level support for complex Windows infrastructure issues.Virtualization Technologies : In-depth expertise in virtualization technologies, with a strong focus on VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).Scripting and Automation : Strong proficiency in scripting languages, particularly PowerShell, for automation and configuration management.Networking Fundamentals : Solid understanding of network topologies, protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP), and network services.Security Principles : Comprehensive knowledge of security best practices for Windows environments, including hardening, patch management, and access controls.System Monitoring : Experience implementing and utilizing system monitoring tools and platforms.Networking : Solid understanding of networking concepts and their integration with Windows infrastructure.Security : Strong understanding of security principles and practices relevant to Windows environments.Cloud : Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and their integration with Windows infrastructure.Backup and Recovery : Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing robust backup and recovery solutions.Troubleshooting : Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills across the entire Windows infrastructure stack.Infrastructure Design and Build : Demonstrated ability to design and build new Windows infrastructure solutions from the ground up.Infrastructure Management : Proven experience in managing and maintaining existing Windows infrastructure environments.Preferred Qualifications :
