Job Description
Application & Lab Management
- Oversee lab schedules and resources to ensure timely and successful application tests.
- Maintain accurate demo lab schedules and logs in the application lab database.
- Ensure completion and accuracy of all test reports and associated documentation.
- Direct equipment setup, cleanout, and storage for demonstrations.
- Implement and maintain safety and continuous improvement initiatives in the lab.
- Oversee proper handling and disposal of chemicals used in the lab.
- Create and update lab procedures and work instructions.
Technical & Commercial Support
- Partner with commercial teams to qualify and prioritize prospective applications.
- Support loaner equipment for field use.
- Interpret test results, recommend corrective actions, and suggest engineering changes.
- Assist in conceptual design, assembly, modification, and testing of prototype machines.
- Stay current on new equipment and applicable technologies across divisions.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Application Engineering team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Set clear objectives, provide feedback, and foster professional growth within the team.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Application Engineering Lead should have :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years' experience in engineering roles, with a proven track record of leadership and application lab environment.
- Extensive experience with industrial fluid handling products.
- Knowledge of general lab practices and equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of lab instrumentation.
- Basic knowledge of pertinent worldwide industry standards (NFPA, CSA, etc.).
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time, both domestic and international.
Accelerators
- Industrial manufacturing experience and knowledge.
- MBA or master's degree preferred
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation and robotics.
- Experience with Personal computers, including graphing and data acquisition.
- Basic shop skills including machining and assembly.
- Experience with Hydraulic and Pneumatic equipment.
