Summary of Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer- Sustaining to act as the technical leader for our sustaining engineering team. In this role, you’ll combine deep enterprise software expertise with a passion for solving the most complex customer issues. You’ll be the first stop for escalations, a mentor to peers, and a builder of tools and processes that make our platform more reliable and supportable at scale
As a Senior Sustaining Software Engineer at Nasuni, you will play a key role in enhancing our cloud-scale NAS platform. Your responsibilities will include :
- Investigate and resolve customer-reported product issues in collaboration with Customer Support.
- Debug Linux-based systems software across C / C++, Python, and Bash codebases.
- Develop automation and diagnostic tools that improve customer supportability.
- Participate in design / code reviews and advocate for customer-centric fixes.
- Perform log analysis, performance benchmarking, and system tuning.
- Collaborate with core engineering to improve resiliency and serviceability.
- Mentor junior sustaining engineers on best practices in debugging and enterprise support.
- Be a part of the quarterly 24x7 on-call rotation.
Qualifications :
Required skills + experience we look for are…6-9 years overall experience.4–7 years of experience developing / debugging Linux-based software.Strong skills in C, C++, Python, and Bash.Deep understanding of Linux internals : systemd, storage stack, networking, security.Familiarity with filesystems (XFS, EXT4) and kernel-level performance tuning.Hands-on debugging using gdb, valgrind, tcpdump, wireshark.Experience with authentication (AD / LDAP) and database technologies (SQL / Postgres).Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.It’s a bonus if you have…
