Role Overview
As the Lead of Technical Operations for India, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing facilities operations across the country. Leveraging your strong engineering background, you will provide strategic direction, ensure operational excellence, and drive energy conservation and sustainability initiatives across all sites.
You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality facilities, managing technical and engineering projects, implementing robust maintenance programs, and ensuring full compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders will be key to creating a safe, productive, cost-efficient, and sustainable workplace ecosystem.
Key Result Areas & Responsibilities
1. Energy Conservation & Sustainability
- Lead the Energy Conservation and Sustainability Charter across all facilities in India.
- Develop and implement energy efficiency programs targeting measurable reductions in energy and water consumption.
- Drive renewable energy adoption, including solar, waste heat recovery, and sustainable HVAC retrofits.
- Monitor and analyze energy data using digital dashboards and Energy Performance Indicators
- Partner with vendors to pilot smart lighting, waste segregation, and sustainable material usage initiatives.
2. Facilities Operations Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all facilities, including office spaces, warehouses, and infrastructure assets.Develop and implement facility management strategies to enhance operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and optimize cost structures.Ensure regulatory compliance with safety, building codes, and environmental standards.Establish and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical systems and assets.Integrate smart building management systems (BMS) and IoT-based monitoring for better performance insights.3. Strategic Facilities Leadership
Define and execute a national facilities strategy aligned with organizational objectives and business growth plans.Leverage engineering expertise to introduce innovative solutions for improving uptime, reliability, and sustainability.Stay abreast of emerging technologies in energy management, asset tracking, and workplace design.Partner with leadership to ensure facilities infrastructure supports evolving hybrid workspace models and future capacity planning.4. Engineering Project Management
Plan, execute, and manage engineering and infrastructure projects including new setups, upgrades, and expansions.Provide technical leadership on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems, HVAC, and other building engineering functions.Develop project charters, budgets, timelines, and governance frameworks.Oversee the selection, onboarding, and management of contractors, architects, and consultants.Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments for key capital projects.5. Vendor Management and Contracts
Identify and engage with best-in-class service providers for facility operations and technical maintenance.Negotiate and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) and contracts ensuring transparency and performance accountability.Conduct quarterly performance reviews and drive vendor-led innovation for cost optimization.Ensure compliance with statutory norms and maintain vendor documentation standards.6. Health, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance
Design, implement, and audit HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) systems and SOPs across all locations.Conduct regular safety drills, inspections, and risk assessments.Ensure timely statutory compliance and reporting under applicable laws and standards.Promote a safety-first culture through awareness programs, training, and incident management systems.7. Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance
Partner with internal stakeholders — HR, Finance, Admin, Operations, and Legal — to ensure alignment of facility initiatives with organizational priorities.Build strong relationships with local authorities, government bodies, and industry associations for compliance and advocacy.Provide regular MIS reports, dashboards, and strategic insights to senior management.Represent the facilities function in leadership reviews and business planning sessions.Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical);Master’s degree preferred.
12+ years of progressive experience in Facilities & Engineering Management.Proven track record in energy management, project execution, and sustainability practices.Strong understanding of building systems, preventive maintenance, and workplace engineering.Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical problem-solving skills.Familiarity with safety norms, environmental standards, and government compliance frameworks.
