Quality Council of India (QCI) is the apex Quality body in the country, in partnership with the Indian industry. It is an independent autonomous organization created by the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry. QCI leads a nationwide quality movement in India by involving all stakeholders, with emphasis on adherence to quality standards in products, systems, and services for promoting and protecting national interest and health and safety of its’ citizens. QCI plays a pivotal role in propagating, adopting, and adherence to quality standards in spheres like education, healthcare, environment, governance, social sectors, infrastructure, and such other areas of organized activities that have a significant bearing in improving the quality of life of the citizens and economic development of the Nation.

QCI’s  Project Planning & Implementation Division (PPID)  is assembling a dynamic team for a national initiative to strengthen  quality and quantity assurance across India’s food supply chain : from procurement to distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Associate Managers and Project Manager in implementing a nationwide study on strengthening quality and quantity assurance systems across India’s food supply chain ecosystem.
  • Collect, validate, and analyse field data covering procurement centres, storage depots, transportation nodes, and distribution points.
  • Assist in designing data collection templates, validation formats, and field documentation protocols to ensure accuracy and uniformity.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis, transforming raw field data into meaningful insights and visualisations.
  • Support the preparation of reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate findings clearly and effectively.
  • Participate in field visits to observe operations, interact with stakeholders, and verify documentation and infrastructure compliance.
  • Maintain organised data repositories, ensuring traceability and version control of all assessment records and evidence.
  • Identify data inconsistencies, perform quality checks, and support the development of performance indicators and benchmarking frameworks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align field observations with analytical interpretations and reporting needs.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills, with proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.
  • Understanding of quality management practices, supply chain systems, or monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Ability to manage large datasets with attention to accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Excellent communication and visual presentation skills for summarising insights in a concise and structured manner.
  • Strong coordination skills with capacity to work effectively across field and analytical environments.
  • High learning agility, adaptability, and ownership in managing diverse project tasks under tight timelines.
  • Experience & Qualification

  • Experience :  2–6 years in data analysis, evaluation studies, field research, or consulting (experience in public systems, logistics, food security, quality management or food quality assessments preferred).
  • Qualification :  Graduate or Postgraduate in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Public Policy, Management, Food Technology, or related disciplines.
