About the Role :
Job Title : Microsoft Copilot Studio Engineer
Experience : 4–8 years
Role Overview :
The Microsoft Copilot Studio Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying custom Copilots and conversational AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio (Power Virtual Agents) . The role involves integrating Copilot experiences across Microsoft 365 , Dynamics 365 , and custom business applications , leveraging Power Platform, Azure Cognitive Services, and Generative AI models to drive intelligent automation and improved user experiences.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Copilot Design & Development
- Design, configure, and deploy custom copilots using Microsoft Copilot Studio .
- Build adaptive conversational experiences using Generative AI , plugins , and connectors .
- Define topics, intents, entities, and flows to deliver contextual and task-based assistance.
- Integrate Copilot with enterprise data sources, APIs, and external systems (e.G., D365, SharePoint, Teams, SQL, SAP).
2. Integration & Automation
Build integrations with Power Automate , Power Apps , Dataverse , and Azure Functions to enable end-to-end automation.Connect Copilot with Graph API , Microsoft Fabric , and other Microsoft 365 services.Develop and configure custom connectors and plugin extensions to extend Copilot capabilities.3. Generative AI Enablement
Implement prompt engineering , retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) , and grounding strategies for Copilot responses.Use Azure OpenAI Service or Microsoft Fabric AI models to enhance conversational accuracy.Ensure responsible AI practices — data privacy, bias mitigation, and compliance.4. Testing, Monitoring & Optimization
Conduct end-to-end testing of Copilot workflows, dialogues, and data integrations.Monitor performance, feedback, and adoption metrics using Copilot Analytics and Power BI dashboards .Continuously refine and optimize prompts, intents, and model performance based on user behavior and feedback.5. Collaboration & Governance
Work with business analysts , functional consultants , and solution architects to translate business use cases into Copilot designs.Adhere to governance, security, and lifecycle management policies within Microsoft environments.Contribute to the Copilot Center of Excellence (CoE) by documenting best practices, reusable components, and templates.Required Skills & Experience :
4–8 years of experience in Power Platform or Microsoft ecosystem development.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio or Power Virtual Agents (PVA) .Strong expertise in Power Automate , Power Apps , Dataverse , and Azure integration services .Familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service , Azure Cognitive Services , and Graph API .Understanding of Generative AI , prompt design , and LLM integrations .Knowledge of security, identity, and data access models within Microsoft 365 and Azure.Working experience with JSON , REST APIs , and custom connectors .Good-to-Have Skills :
Experience with Dynamics 365 Copilot or M365 Copilot extensions.Exposure to Azure AI Studio , LangChain , or vector database integrations.Understanding of GitHub Copilot , PowerShell scripting , and DevOps CI / CD pipelines for Power Platform.Certification : Microsoft Power Platform Developer (PL-400) or AI Engineer (AI-102) .Education :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Soft Skills :
