Job Summary :
We are seeking a qualified Gynecologic Oncologist to diagnose and treat cancers of the female reproductive system. The role involves performing complex oncologic surgeries, developing multidisciplinary treatment plans, and providing compassionate care throughout the cancer journey.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform surgical treatment for gynecologic cancers
Collaborate with oncology teams for integrated patient care
Interpret diagnostic tests and stage cancers
Counsel patients and families with empathy
Participate in tumor boards and clinical audits
Common Gynecologic Oncology Surgeries
Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH)
Removal of the uterus through an abdominal incision.
Radical Hysterectomy
Removal of the uterus, surrounding tissues, upper vagina, and sometimes lymph nodes (for cervical cancer).
Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy (BSO)
Removal of both fallopian tubes and ovaries.
Debulking Surgery
Removal of as much tumor mass as possible, often used in ovarian cancer.
Pelvic and Para-aortic Lymphadenectomy
Removal of lymph nodes in the pelvic and para-aortic regions.
Omentectomy
Removal of the omentum (fatty apron in the abdomen), often done in ovarian cancer surgery.
Exenteration
Extensive surgery removing pelvic organs (bladder, rectum, reproductive organs) in advanced cancers.
Laparoscopy or Robotic-Assisted Surgery
Minimally invasive techniques to perform diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
