Job Title : SAP HANA Database Administrator

Experience : 3 to 6 Years

Location : Hyderabad & Bengaluru

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled SAP HANA Database Administrator with 3 to 6 years of experience in managing HANA system architecture and database operations. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise in SAP HANA installation, administration, backup / recovery, upgrades, and performance tuning in both single and multi-tenant environments. A solid understanding of Linux operating systems and troubleshooting of high-priority incidents is essential.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform installation, configuration, and administration of SAP HANA 2.0 (MDC and non-MDC) databases.
  • Execute version upgrades (e.g., HANA 1.0 to HANA 2.0) and DB client upgrades .
  • Monitor system health, performance, and alerts via HANA Studio and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Maintain backup strategy using Backint and perform backup & point-in-time recovery .
  • Manage system start / stop activities during maintenance windows.
  • Apply licenses and manage audit logs , system parameters, and user-level traces for diagnostics.
  • Perform system health checks , analyze trace / log files, and handle CPU / memory utilization issues.
  • Create and manage HANA users, roles , and authorizations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve P1 / P2 incidents related to HANA database performance and availability.
  • Apply configuration changes and ensure system stability and performance optimization.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Manage technical incident resolution , root cause analysis, and change / service request implementation.
  • Conduct installation, patching, and upgrade activities as per change management policies.
  • Monitor system availability, backups, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Provide technical consulting and support to improve system architecture and operations.
  • Lead and contribute to global documentation and knowledge transfer initiatives.
  • Deliver training workshops and mentor junior team members.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of migration and optimization projects.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, compliance, and operational excellence standards.

    • Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in SAP HANA database administration .
  • Proficient in Linux OS and HANA system architecture.
  • Experience with Backint-based backups , system recovery, and MDC configurations.
  • Hands-on with troubleshooting , performance analysis, and trace file diagnostics.
  • Ability to handle high-priority incidents and deliver timely resolutions .
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certifications in SAP HANA or related technologies are an added advantage.
