Vice President of Engineering

Job Summary : The VP Engineering leads and oversees the entire engineering department, including frontend and backend development teams, with a strong focus on SaaS platforms, marketplace solutions, and DevOps. This role is pivotal in integrating AI-driven development practices, fostering innovation, and delivering scalable solutions. The VP Engineering drives strategy, architecture, and implementation to ensure excellence in software development, platform reliability, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities  Leadership & Supervision  Oversee resources, staffing, and building a collaborative development team.  Lead teams focusing on Java, Spring Boot, React Native, React JS, NoSQL(MongoDB), MySQL , Cloud Platform, and Machine Learning technologies.  Manage technical integrations and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  Foster team-building and provide technical leadership for software design and implementation.  Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards, policies, and processes.  Mentor and prepare key development personnel for leadership roles. Strategic Direction  Drive the strategy, architecture, and development of SaaS and marketplace solutions.  Lead the integration of AI tools for predictive analytics, user personalization, and operational efficiency.  Ensure seamless scalability, uptime, and user experience across platforms.  Organize activities for the development, implementation, release, and maintenance of software projects.  Evaluate engineering designs and ensure alignment with resource, budget, and timeline constraints. Collaboration & Communication  Work closely with senior leadership globally to define long-term organizational roadmaps.  Coordinate development activities with internal and external stakeholders to meet objectives.  Foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration, encouraging innovation and shared success.

Required Qualifications & Skills  Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or other Engineering disciplines.  Experience : 15+ years in software product development.  Highly skilled in defining and building the SaaS and Marketplace Product.  Expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Kafka, and security protocols.  Proficiency in latest design patterns, object-oriented programming, and architecture.  Core knowledge in web / mobile development React, React Native (HTML, JavaScript / TypeScript, CSS) and libraries (jQuery, Bootstrap).  Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., GIT).  Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.  Experience with agile and iterative software development methodologies.  Expertise in automated unit test scripting and code reviews.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications & Skills  Budgeting and planning experience.  Experience in budgeting and planning for software projects.  Expertise in driving organizational goals and aligning engineering priorities.  Familiarity with microservices architecture and API service registration and discovery.  Exposure to open-source libraries and tools for SaaS and DevOps.  Hands-on technical expertise to support AI and marketplace innovations
