Job description

Job Title : Senior Accountant

  • Location : Mumbai – Khar (In-office)
  • Experience : 4+Years Industry :
  • Employment Type : Full-Time

Key Responsibilities :

1. Accounting Operations

  • Oversee and manage all core accounting functions — Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger, and Bank Reconciliation.
  • Handle end-to-end bookkeeping and ensure timely and accurate posting of transactions.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and maintain up-to-date financial records.
  • Supervise and review work done by junior accountants and interns.

    • 2. Taxation & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain detailed GST computation workings – GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C, ledgers, etc.
  • Reconcile GST returns with books of accounts (Input Tax Credit & Outward Supplies) regularly.
  • Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, and Income Tax returns, and assist in compliance audits.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations to ensure company compliance.

    • 3. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
  • Generate MIS reports for management review and assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.

    • 4. Audit & Internal Controls

  • Coordinate with statutory, internal, and tax auditors ; prepare and maintain audit documentation.
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to company accounting policies.
  • Review accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

    • 5. Tools & Systems

  • Work efficiently with Tally ERP / Prime, ZohoBooks, or similar accounting software.
  • Demonstrate advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
  • Support automation initiatives to streamline accounting and reporting functions.

    • Required Qualifications & Skills :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (CA Inter preferred).
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience in financial services, audit, or wealth management.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, IND AS, GST, and Direct Taxation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
