About Cardijn
Cardijn College is a dynamic R–12 co-educational Catholic school in Adelaide’s Southern Vales, inspired by the Marist tradition and the vision of Cardinal Joseph Cardijn and St Marcellin Champagnat. With over 2,300 students across three campuses : Marian (Years 7–12), Marcellin (vocational Years 10–12+), and Galilee (Reception–Year 9), we offer diverse learning pathways, industry partnerships, and a strong sense of community.
Position Summary
As a Grounds Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving the grounds and facilities across our three campuses. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, working outdoors, and contributing to a positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain lawns, gardens, and outdoor areas to a high standard across all campuses.Perform general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, cleaning, and rubbish removal.Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and power tools.Assist with the setup and pack-down of outdoor events and activities.Monitor and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.Work collaboratively with the Facilities team to support campus needs.About you
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual who :
Has experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field.Possesses strong practical skills and a hands-on approach to work.Is able to perform manual labor.Holds a current driver’s license and has access to reliable transport.Is adaptable and able to manage priorities across multiple campuses.Demonstrates a commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.Desirable : (but not essential)
Experience working in a school or similar environment.Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in horticulture or groundskeeping.Essential Selection Criteria
Active support for the Catholic ethos and the College Mission and Values.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Any Other Role Specific PointsSpecific Requirements
Be willing to acquire and maintain :
DHS Working With Children Check and Catholic Police Clearance to work in Catholic Education SA.Current valid Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificate.Applicable First Aid Certificate relevant to the role requirements.Why Work at Cardijn College?
