Job Description : Responsibilities :
IIS Server Administration :
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) servers.
- Manage and troubleshoot IIS configurations, including application pools, virtual directories, websites, and web applications.
- Optimize IIS performance for high traffic and scalability.
Windows Server Management :
Administer and maintain Windows Server operating systems.Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy related to IIS servers.Install and configure server roles and features.Monitoring and Troubleshooting :
Implement and maintain server monitoring solutions (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, SCOM).Proactively monitor server performance, disk space, and other critical metrics.Troubleshoot and resolve server and application issues in a timely manner.Analyze log files to identify and resolve problems.Automation and Scripting :
Automate routine tasks using PowerShell scripting.Develop and maintain scripts for server configuration, deployment, and management.Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) and Standards :Create and maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, procedures, and best practices.Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IIS Server Administrator.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.x / 8.x / 10.x.Extensive experience with Windows Server administration (e.g., Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022).Proficiency in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.Experience with .NET Framework, ASP.NET, and web application deployment.Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP / IP, HTTP, DNS, and load balancing.Experience with server monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, SCOM).Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.Knowledge of security best practices for web servers and applications.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and documentation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Preferred Qualifications :
Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA).Experience with web application firewalls (WAFs) such as Imperva or F5.Experience with load balancing technologies (e.g., F5, Citrix).Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and IIS in the cloud.Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.ref : hirist.tech)
