Role Overview
Cybage is seeking a Practice Head for Big Data to lead and grow our data engineering and analytics capability within the Cloud, Data & AI business unit. This is a strategic leadership role requiring a strong mix of technical expertise, practice-building ability, and client consulting experience .
The Practice Head will define the Big Data vision, shape offerings, guide client engagements, and build high-performing teams. The role is suited for leaders who have scaled Big Data practices in IT services—whether at large or mid-size scale—and who can balance hands-on technical credibility with executive-level client engagement .
Key Responsibilities
Practice Leadership
- Define the strategic direction for Cybage’s Big Data practice, aligned to client needs and CDAI growth goals.
- Build a portfolio of offerings across modern data platforms, streaming, advanced analytics, governance, and AI / ML integration .
- Drive IP creation, accelerators, and reusable frameworks to differentiate Cybage in the services marketplace.
Client Consulting & Business Growth
Lead consulting-grade workshops with CxO stakeholders to shape enterprise data strategies.Partner with sales and account teams on presales solutioning, proposals, and proactive client engagement.Position Cybage as a trusted advisor for Big Data transformations, with a focus on measurable outcomes.Delivery Excellence
Govern delivery across multiple engagements, ensuring quality, predictability, and client satisfaction.Drive adoption of service-based and outcome-based delivery models , balancing innovation with execution rigor.Provide architectural oversight across projects and guide teams on modern Big Data stacks (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS / GCP / Azure, Kafka, Spark, Delta Lake, etc.).Team & Capability Building
Build and mentor a high-performing practice team of architects, engineers, and managers.Develop future leaders by fostering technical depth and consulting skills within the team.Collaborate with Cloud, AI / ML, and Platform Engineering practices for integrated client solutions.Qualifications
Experience
15+ years in IT services, with at least 5–7 years in Big Data leadership, architecture, or practice-building roles .Demonstrated ability to establish or grow a practice , including team building, offering creation, and client engagement.Exposure to service delivery models : managed services, consulting, and outcome-based engagements.Consulting experience : running executive workshops, shaping client roadmaps, and translating business needs into scalable data solutions.Skills & Competencies
Technical bent : strong grounding in modern Big Data architectures, with the ability to dive deep when needed.Strategic mindset : ability to link Big Data initiatives to business outcomes and growth metrics.Leadership : strong people development skills; experience building practices and leading distributed teams (even if at a modest scale).Client-facing presence : excellent communication and advisory skills with senior executives.
