Role- Senior Procurement Consultant (Medical Devices)
Our client, a leading private equity firm, is looking to engage with a Senior Procurement Consultant, with 10 to 15 years of experience in strategic and operational sourcing of medical devices and consumables. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of medical product categories, regulatory-compliant sourcing, and centralized procurement processes.
You will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, driving cost optimization, ensuring quality and compliance in procurement, and supporting cross-functional stakeholders including R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead end-to-end sourcing for medical devices, diagnostics, and associated technologies.
- Analyze spend, identify savings opportunities, and drive competitive sourcing strategies.
- Evaluate and onboard suppliers based on quality, cost, compliance, and delivery performance.
- Operate within centralized procurement systems and processes (e.g., ERP-based P2P workflows).
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, audit readiness, and documentation.
Coordinate cross-functionally to align procurement activities with demand planning, inventory, and operations.
Ensure all medical device procurement complies with applicable regulatory and quality standards (e.g., FDA, CE, ISO 13485).Partner with product, R&D, and operations teams to support new product introductions (NPI) and prototyping needs.Act as procurement lead on cost-reduction, localization, or make-vs-buy projects.Support global sourcing initiatives and alignment with group-level procurement functions (if applicable).Skills required-
10 to 15 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain with a focus on medical devices or healthcare equipment.Strong knowledge of medical technology supply markets, device categories, and industry standards.Proven track record in vendor negotiations, cost optimization, and contract management.Experience working within centralized procurement teams or shared service models.Familiar with regulatory and quality requirements for medical devices (FDA, MDR, ISO).Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Proficient in ERP tools (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and procurement analytics.
