Job description

This role is for a Business Development Specialist responsible for cold calling and multi-channel prospecting to generate and qualify leads among NCE and 505b2 pharma / biotech companies globally, while also managing the pipeline and supporting the senior BD team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Market Research & Prospecting : Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients (NCE and 505b2 pharma and biotech companies), key decision-makers, in assigned geographies (e.G., North America, Europe, Asia).
  • Lead Generation & Outreach : Execute multi-channel outreach strategies which includes managing targeted email campaigns, utilizing social selling platforms (primarily LinkedIn), and performing rigorous cold calling to engage prospective clients directly.
  • High-Volume Cold Calling : Initiate and manage a consistent volume of outbound calls to C-suite executives, VPs of Manufacturing, Heads of R&D, and Procurement Managers at target pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
  • Lead Qualification & Nurturing : Qualify leads based on established criteria such as project scope, technical requirements, timelines, and budget. Nurture prospective clients through the sales funnel by providing relevant information and maintaining ‘consistent engagement’.
  • Pipeline Management : Maintain and update client databases and CRM tools (e.G., Salesforce, HubSpot) with accurate information, ensuring the sales pipeline is well-organized and tracked.
  • Sales Support : Support BD team with travel schedules, proposal preparation, responses to RFPs (Requests for Proposal), presentations, and follow-up communications.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

  • Education : A Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific / business field is highly preferred. An MBA can be an added advantage.
  • Experience : Proven experience (e.G., 2-5 years) in lead generation, with demonstrated success in a cold-calling environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related life sciences / CDMO industry.
  • Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional phone presence and the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly to potential clients.
