Job description

Experience : 8-12 yrs.

Location - Mumbai.

Purpose of the role : .

  • Providing opinions and advisory support on regulatory queries and matters related to Corporate laws and Securities laws and regulations in particular Companies Act, LODR, ICDR, IBC and other corporate laws and regulations and legal framework applicable.
  • Provide legal support to various stake holders across the group for updating about new regulations and other support for regulatory affairs, legal advisory support to key business teams while ensuring that legal risk is mitigated.
  • The incumbent sets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the Company and will safeguard the reputation by giving legal advice to management about all relevant legal issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Legal support for Regulatory affairs.
  • Advise on multiple regulatory matters related with Securities laws and capital markets regulations and - other corporate laws like Companies Act, LODR, ICDR, SEBI Laws and Regulations etc.
  • Advising and assisting the functional teams on key regulatory issues having legal implications, review of Show cause notices and orders passed by Committee etc.
  • Tracking latest circulars, amendments etc and updating management about new changes particularly on SEBI laws and regulations impacting listed companies, brokers and capital markets in general.
  • Advisory & Policy Affairs.
  • Facilitate in developing and drafting various policies and SOP as applicable, identify and provide guidance and legal support for addressing various legal issues having regulatory and business ramifications and assisting company in its representations before statutory and regulatory authorities and industry bodies and providing legal opinions.
  • Risk and Relationship management.
  • Implement effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues, communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external law firms etc. ), creating relations of trust and build in roads with external parties including companies in the capital market space in a constructive manner for the orderly development of securities market and for adoption of best practices.
