Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring all infrastructure-related projects including new store development, showroom renovation, interior works, and maintenance of existing facilities. The role demands coordination with architects, vendors, contractors, and internal departments to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with the brand quality and aesthetic standards.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Real Estate and Property Acquisition Responsibilities

2. Understanding brand requirements and Identification of suitable premises for retail or appropriate real estate.

3. Negotiating with owners, landlords for financial and other terms of lease / purchase.

4. Knowledge of real estate prices.

5. Ability to conduct due diligence of property documents.

6. Ability to understand location pros and cons.

7. Developing confidential discussions with highest integrity and honesty.

8. Project Execution and Coordination Responsibilities

9. Liaison with architects, designers, contractors, VM and other providers, to deliver high quality quick projects for the company.

10. Cost negotiations, scientific costing of materials and projects.

11. Sampling, purchase order creations on vVsion systems, project management capability for deadline and quality and specification adherence.

12. Supervision and accurate reporting to Management.

13. Taking ownership for delivery.

14. Project Closure and Maintenance Management

15. Maintenance and sustainability of project post completion.

16. Snag corrections.

17. Payment controls and bills checking capability.

18. Liaisons with professional project management experts if reqd.

19. New Store Development & Renovation :

20. Plan, schedule, and execute all activities related to new showroom openings and renovations.

21. Prepare project timelines, cost estimates, and material specifications.

22. Coordinate with architects, designers, and vendors to ensure compliance with design and brand standards.

23. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to timelines.

24. Manage government and statutory approvals related to store construction or renovation.

25. Interior and Fit-Out Works :

26. Supervise execution of interior design, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing works.

27. Ensure materials and finishes meet design intent and quality expectations.

28. Verify vendor bills, material usage, and workmanship quality.

29. Resolve on-site technical or design-related issues promptly.

30. Maintenance of Existing Infrastructure :

31. Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of existing showrooms, offices, and other properties.

32. Ensure minimal downtime and quick resolution of maintenance issues.

33. Budgeting & Cost Control :

34. Prepare and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.

35. Maintain accurate project documentation, BOQs, and cost reports.

36. Verify contractor invoices and manage vendor payments in coordination with finance.

37. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination :

38. Identify and evaluate vendors, contractors, and suppliers.

39. Manage tendering, negotiations, and contract finalisation.

40. Collaborate with internal teams (Retail, IT, Facility, Security, HR) for project requirements.

41. Compliance & Safety :

42. Ensure adherence to safety, statutory, and environmental regulations.

43. Maintain documentation for audits, licenses, and regulatory inspections.

Qualifications & Experience :

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering / Interior Design / Architecture.
• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in retail, corporate, or commercial infrastructure projects.
• Experience in handling end-to-end retail store projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP, civil, and interior works.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and Excel.
