Fiduciary Tax Compliance Specialist

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced US Tax Professional with a strong background in reviewing Form 1041 (U.S. Income Tax Return for Estates and Trusts). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations, offering strategic tax planning, and delivering high-quality service to individuals and fiduciary clients.

Key Responsibilities :

Form 1041 Estates & Trusts :

Review fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041), including complex trust and estate accounting.

Allocate income between the trust / estate and beneficiaries appropriately.

Understand DNI (Distributable Net Income) calculations and trust distribution rules.

Collaborate with estate planners and attorneys as needed.

General Tax Duties :

Stay current on federal and state tax laws affecting individuals and fiduciaries.

Communicate with clients to gather necessary documents and provide updates.

Respond to IRS and state tax notices and correspondence.

Use tax software such as CCH Axcess, Sureprep, ProSystem fx, Lacerte, UltraTax, or Drake.

Maintain confidentiality of client data and uphold professional ethics.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;

CPA or EA preferred.

3+ years of experience in US trust and estate returns

2+ years of recent experience reviewing US trust and estate returns

Strong understanding of IRC sections relevant to 1041 returns.

Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client relationships simultaneously.
