We are seeking a highly proactive, solution-oriented, and results-driven individual for the Assistant Manager / Manager- Purchase. This position is responsible for managing end-to-end purchase operations, including vendor sourcing, negotiation, purchase planning, and ensuring cost optimization while maintaining quality and compliance. The role will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure timely, efficient, and strategic purchasing aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibility :
Purchase Operations & Vendor Management :
- Manage the full purchase life-cycle including sourcing, RFQ / RFP management, purchase order creation, and vendor payments.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure product quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service-level agreements with suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Define and comply with TATs and SLAs with business / stakeholders and manage the customer experience.
Strategic Sourcing & Cost Optimization :
Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to build a competitive vendor base.Conduct market analysis and bench-marking to ensure best pricing and quality standards.Implement strategies for cost savings, bulk deals, and process efficiency without compromising quality.Compliance & Risk Management :
Ensure compliance to the defined budgets as per Annual Operating PlanEnsure all purchase activities comply with company policies, customer SLAs, statutory requirements, and industry regulations.Proactively mitigate supply risks by maintaining alternate supplier options and buffer planning.Maintain complete documentation and records for audits and compliance purposes.Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement :
Work closely with Business, Operations, Finance, Planning,Logistics, and Projects teams to align purchase plans with business requirements.Partner with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and ensure timely availability of goods.Act as the escalation point for vendor concerns and internal purchase-related queries.Reporting & Analytics :
Prepare and circulate meaningful MIS on the function, covering service delivery standards, SLA compliance, Vendor Performance and Cost Effectiveness, besides other Key Performance Indicators for the function.Share regular updates with management on purchase performance, risks, and opportunities.Use data and insights to continuously refine purchase processes.Experience Required :
Experience : 8–10+ years in procurement / purchase roles, with at least 4 years in a managerial capacity.Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience with ERP / purchase management systems is preferred.
