We are seeking a skilled GCP Infrastructure Consultant with strong expertise in DevOps practices and Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure and automating data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have experience in building, managing, and scaling infrastructure for data-intensive applications while ensuring best practices for security, reliability, and performance in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. The Candidate should be comfortable working in US hours for US projects.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design and Management :

  • Design and deploy scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure solutions on GCP using Terraform.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles for cloud resource provisioning.

DevOps and CI / CD :

  • Build and maintain CI / CD pipelines for deploying infrastructure and data pipelines.
  • Automate deployment processes to improve system reliability and reduce manual interventions.
  • Data Pipeline Management :

  • Collaborate with data engineers to design, deploy, and optimize data pipelines on GCP using services like BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub / Sub, and Cloud Storage.
  • Ensure pipelines are reliable, performant, and scalable to handle large datasets.
  • Monitoring and Optimization :

  • Implement monitoring and logging for infrastructure and data pipelines using tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Perform system health checks, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource usage.
  • Security and Compliance :

  • Ensure infrastructure and pipelines adhere to security and compliance standards.
  • Implement IAM policies, VPC configurations, and encryption for data at rest and in transit.
  • Collaboration :

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and project managers, to meet project goals.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices.
  • Qualifications

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    Core Expertise :

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services : Compute Engine, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub / Sub, and Cloud Composer.
  • Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • DevOps Skills :

  • Experience with CI / CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI / CD, or Cloud Build.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (GKE preferred).
  • Data and Pipeline Management :

  • Familiarity with building and managing data pipelines using GCP services.
  • Knowledge of data storage solutions and data lifecycle management.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting :

  • Expertise in setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms on GCP.
  • Programming and Scripting :

  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar languages for scripting and automation.
  • Security and Governance :

  • Understanding of GCP IAM, VPC, and encryption best practices.
  • General Skills :

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    Certifications :

  • Google Professional Cloud Architect or Google Professional Data Engineer certification.
  • Experience with other IaC tools like Ansible or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark) and data pipeline orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
