Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role :

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.

We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours).

Introduction :

Responsible for the overall management control and delivery of Business Critical projects within the SWIFT Gateway Infrastructure Portfolio, including scheduled systems releases, and other key Projects (including mandatory / regulatory).

What will you be doing?

  • Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project to plan, budget and agreed quality and governance standards.
  • Manage suppliers in line with agreed contractual obligations, milestones and quality standards.
  • Provide effective communications and relationship building with key senior stakeholders within technology, operations and product and provide Project status reporting that is accurate, informative and timely.
  • Own and drive the effective governance of the Project.
  • Own and drive the Project planning framework, ensuring that plans are developed and tracked to appropriate standards.
  • Control the Project scope, ensuring that rigorous change control is exercised.
  • Ensure the project meets the expected requirements and that acceptance and handover to business as usual are managed against agreed acceptance criteria and to a defined plan.
  • Define project budgets, obtain funding and track actual expenditure to ensure the project remains on track from a financial perspective.

What we’re looking for :

  • Must have a track record of managing business or technical Projects in the financial services.
  • Strong Project mobilisation / initiation / planning experience in addition to management of established Projects.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills at Senior Management / Director level, with strong and influential personal credibility.
  • Leadership skills with evidence of managing medium-large teams across a range of disciplines and locations.
  • Demonstrable record of managing Project budgets effectively, and delivering within budgetary constraints
  • Relevant Experience 10 to 14 years

Skills that will help you in the role :

  • Knowledge of SWIFT and SWIFT infrastructures.
  • Has operated in roles facing off directly to senior Stakeholders. A track record of successfully managing stakeholder relationships is definitely preferred.
  • Previous experience of managing payments related projects.
  • Ability to manage and deliver Projects in a business that is undergoing a high degree of organisational and strategic change.
  • Formal external qualification / accreditation to Prince II or PMI methodologies, or at least experience of Prince II / PMI in a project environment.
