Position Title : Team Leader – US Residential Mortgage (Loan Servicing)

Location : Chennai

Level / Band : B1

Work Days : 5 Days a Week

Shift : US Shifts

Notice Period : Immediate Joiners Preferred

Education : Any Graduate

Experience : 7+ years in Mortgage Origination with a minimum of 2 years in a team management role

Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to manage a team of mortgage processing professionals in a high-performance, SLA-driven US mortgage environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of loan underwriting, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive performance while maintaining compliance and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities :

Team Management & Leadership :
Lead a team of mortgage processors to meet daily operational targets and SLA commitments.
Handle second-level escalations, providing guidance and resolution support to team members.
Motivate, mentor, and develop staff to achieve performance goals and maintain team morale.

Operational Excellence :

Conduct weekly sampling audits to ensure consistent quality across all team members.

Ensure strict adherence to KPIs, SLAs, and client-defined metrics.

Monitor and manage attrition levels and ensure stability in team performance.

Process Oversight :

End-to-end planning and execution of mortgage processing activities.

Conduct metrics reviews, analyze root causes of issues, and implement process improvements.

Liaise with clients, manage escalations, and build strong working relationships.

Regulatory & Compliance Management :

Ensure all activities are in compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

Drive awareness and adherence to Information Security and Compliance policies among team members.

Facilitate regular audits, implement mitigation strategies, and conduct risk assessments as needed.

Required Skills :

Strong understanding of mortgage origination and underwriting processes.

Proven ability to manage teams and deliver on operational KPIs.

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

Strong organizational, analytical, and math skills.

Ability to manage client relationships and handle escalations effectively.

Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance.
