Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow for a period of 36 months under the project titled ‘Early Morning Ionosphere-Thermosphere System (EMITS) : Knowledge gaps and Importance in the low and midlatitudes’ funded by Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India.
The aim of the project is to investigate the Early Morning Ionosphere-Thermosphere System (EMITS) in low and midlatitudes using a diverse variety of observational datasets from ground and space. Historical datasets from past satellite missions, present observations from space and ground will all be used to study the processes and responses of EMITS to different geophysical conditions in the early morning local times.
The candidate should be passionate about research, assist in gathering and analyzing datasets, write results into articles and reports, and support overall administrative and research activities of the project wherever required.
Required Qualifications : M.Sc. / BS-MS / Four-year B.Sc.(Honors) in Physics, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Space Physics, Geophysics, or a related discipline.
Desirable Skills : Proficiency in Matlab or Python programming, Knowledge on Atmospheric Science, Space physics or Plasma physics.

Salary : Rs. 37000 / - per month, consolidated
Additional benefits : The selected candidate may register for Ph.D. Based on their performance and if selected to the PhD program, the institute may extend its support until completion of Ph.D. degree (not beyond 48 months including the period under ANRF project).
