Specialist Systems Engineer - MSSQL-Onsite / Bengaluru

Strong knowledge of Production Database Operations and understanding the importance of BAU.

Good knowledge of the ITIL Framework.

Effective communication skills (Written & Verbal).

Experience in Incident Management and handling crisis calls by engaging with vendors and clients.

Proficient in presentation skills (PPT) and advanced Excel functions, including Macros.

Strong experience in client projects / domains, end-to-end project management, and defining technology roadmaps.

Preferred experience in LEAN methodology to optimize BAU tasks.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Willingness to take ownership, accept responsibility, and resolve issues proactively.

Continuous learning mindset with the ability to skill up on new concepts, features, and open-source technologies; experience mentoring others.

Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment.

Experience in planning and executing PSU patching and SQL Server upgrades (Legacy Management).

Hands-on experience in automating PSU patching, installations, and other BAU activities.

Proficient in using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler, and optimizing queries; experienced in tracing long-running queries, blockings, and deadlocks.

Skilled in account management (login creation, deletion, profile modification) and managing security / audit parameters.

Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and client / server connectivity.

Knowledge of index maintenance, including defragmentation, reindexing, and updating index statistics.

Experience in configuring and monitoring high availability (HA) solutions such as Log Shipping, Database Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, and Always-On.

Strong troubleshooting skills in Always-On, Clustering, and other HA components.

Good knowledge of storage-level replication technologies like SRDF.

Experienced in scheduling and managing regular database backups and timely recovery; automation of backup jobs.

Skilled in scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL Agent Jobs, Autosys Maintenance Jobs, and Maintenance Plans.

Capable of troubleshooting and resolving data corruption issues (page or table level).

Experienced in preparing and updating SOP documents (Technical & Operational).

Good to Have : Experience managing large environments (500+ SQL instances and multi-terabyte databases).

Good to Have : Scripting knowledge in PowerShell for database administration activities.
