Job Summary

Structural Engineer with Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed Institute with more than 12 years of experience in estimation, engineering co-ordination, front end & detailed design of structures / foundations for large industrial projects. Candidate should have worked in an engineering office or consultancy of repute performing relevant work. Candidate should have exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other foreign codes / standards and local practices. Candidate should have exposure to 3D modeling and viewing tools such as PDS, Frameworks, S3D, Tekla, Naviswork, SPR and shall be proficient in use of industry standard Structural and Finite Element Analysis package such as STAAD Pro, GTStrudl, SAP, ETABS, Midas etc. Candidate's exposure to modular / precast construction, design of Flat slab / Cheese slab will be an added advantage.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals, design criteria, specifications, budget and schedules for projects of varying complexity.
  • Perform the finite element modeling and structural analysis of various steel and concrete structures.
  • Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendation.
  • Prepares and / or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
  • Reviews and checks work of junior team members and provides input for their performance evaluation.

Education and Experience Requirements :

  • Minimum 4-year degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering.
  • Preference will be given to the candidates with Master's degree in relevant subject.
  • 12 + years of relevant work experience.
  • Required Knowledge and Skills :

  • Possesses a broad understanding of the major design engineering deliverables.
  • Plans, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work.
  • Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and / or difficult coordination requirements.
  • Performs work using Standard Application Programs and appropriate computer aided design and computer aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools.
  • Coordinates engineering effort in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups.
  • Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods.
  • Understanding of the roles played by other disciplines like Plant Layout and Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Geotech and Construction etc.
  • Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
  • Experience in leading a team of designers in EPC and / or big FEED projects.
  • Capable of planning, assigning, guiding and monitoring work of the team members
  • Capable of assuring quality of design and associated deliverable
  • Experience in design of Flat slabs, Cheese slabs and dynamic analysis of structures shall be an added advantage.
