Director - Trading Platform Engineering

Role Overview :

The eTrading Platform Engineering Director will lead the design, development, and optimization of the firm’s electronic trading platforms across multiple asset classes. The role combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-performance, low-latency, and resilient trading systems that meet evolving business and regulatory needs. The incumbent will work closely with Front Office, Quant, Risk, and Infrastructure teams to drive technology innovation, scalability, and reliability in trading execution.

Key Responsibilities :

Own the strategic roadmap and technical vision for the firm’s eTrading platform (Rates, FX, Equities, or Credit).

Oversee architecture design, performance tuning, scalability, and resilience improvements for trading systems.

Champion cloud-native, containerized, and microservices-based architectures while ensuring low-latency design principles.

Lead multi-location engineering teams delivering front-to-back platform components — pricing, order management, market connectivity, and post-trade workflows.

Partner with Trading, Quant, and Product teams to understand business priorities and translate them into technical solutions.

Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to ensure platform security, operational resilience, and adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd-Frank).

Lead and mentor a team of senior engineers, architects, and DevOps specialists across global locations.

Key Skills & Experience :

15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years leading eTrading or high-performance financial systems.

Deep understanding of electronic trading workflows , market connectivity, FIX / FAST protocols, and exchange / venue integration.

Proven track record in building and scaling trading platforms supporting real-time pricing, order routing, and execution management.

Familiarity with financial regulations and market microstructure across asset classes.

Demonstrated ability to lead large, geographically distributed engineering teams
