APS 5 - Estate Environmental Officer

The Role

The Directorate of Contamination Assessment, Remediation and Management (DCARM) undertakes multiple programs of work to manage risks to the environment and human health. DCARM is a dynamic group with a collaborative work culture. This role, based in our Business Management Team, provides business operations support to the Directorate. This allows Programs to focus their environmental expertise on delivering Defence priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key to this role. Priorities change quickly, and those with a customer service mindset, and an agile approach, will thrive.

• With a strong attention to detail and the talent to work on wide-ranging activities concurrently;
• Able to perform procurement activities including : approach to market, tender evaluation, and contract management;
• Experienced in business administration, records management, governance, reporting, process development, and human resources; and
• That enjoy challenges, and can operate outside their skillset at short notice in support of team goals.

About our Team

Our Directorate provides expertise in contamination management to enable military capability, estate management, community safety and responsible land management. We investigate, remediate and monitor risks to the environment and human health from legacy-contaminated sites. We also investigate and disclose details of contamination in property transactions and maintain public access to information about contamination on the Defence estate.
