Role Summary
To lead the design and development of the Women’s Ethnic Wear range by translating consumer insights, fashion trends, and brand vision into commercially successful and trend-forward collections. The role is responsible for driving design innovation, ensuring timely range delivery, and maintaining distinct brand aesthetic across all seasons.
Key Responsibilities
Range Creation & Development
- Lead the design strategy and range planning as per the seasonal buying calendar.
- Conceptualize and develop trend-right, value-focused collections aligned with Easybuy’s brand positioning.
- Plan and conduct range presentations to showcase the creative direction and seasonal stories.
- Use the Easybuy color palette as a base, ensuring consistency and brand coherence.
- Ensure smooth season-to-season transitions by maintaining balance between innovation and core product continuity.
- Review and approve pre-production sample translations including lab dips, color cuttings, print strike-offs, styling, fits, trims, and embellishments in collaboration with the Buying and Sourcing Teams.
- Oversee preparation and accuracy of tech packs, ensuring design integrity during production.
Trend Research & Forecasting
Lead trend research through domestic and international market studies, online platforms, and forecasting agencies.Translate insights into seasonal mood boards, color stories, and key silhouette directions.Conduct competitive benchmarking and retail analysis to identify opportunity areas for growth.Partner with the Retail Team to leverage bestseller learnings from previous seasons.Deliver impactful trend presentations as per the design calendar to guide category direction.Analysis & Innovation
Analyze fabric, color, print, and silhouette trends to guide range creation.Evaluate commercial viability of design ideas considering cost, functionality, and market potential.Continuously assess customer preferences and adapt global and national trends to suit consumer base.Drive innovation in design processes, ensuring freshness in concepts and efficiency in execution.Collaboration & Leadership
Work closely with Buying, Planning, and Sourcing teams to achieve timely range handovers.Mentor and guide the design team, fostering creativity, accountability, and attention to detail.Build a culture of cross-functional collaboration and design excellence.Ensure all designs align with business objectives, value positioning, and brand DNA.Key Result Areas (KRAs)
