Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Hospital Medical Transcriptionist to join our team at Spandana Hospital. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in transcribing medical reports and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records. This is a full-time position located at our headquarters in Bangalore, suitable for candidates with relevant work experience in medical transcription.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Strong listening and comprehension skills to interpret and transcribe complex medical information accurately.
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy, with a minimum of 60 words per minute.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical transcription software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to spot errors in transcribed documents.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Listen to the recorded dictations of healthcare professionals and accurately transcribe them into written reports.
  • Edit and proofread transcriptions for grammar, clarity, consistency, and medical accuracy.
  • Ensure all transcriptions are completed and submitted within established deadlines.
  • Identify inconsistencies or discrepancies in medical reports and verify them with the healthcare provider.
  • Enter transcriptions into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system or other designated databases.
  • Keep up to date with new medical terminology and advancements in the healthcare field.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records.
