Job Description
Basware is looking for a Manager, Procurement to take ownership of our global spend in Software, SaaS, and IT Consulting and more . This role is key to ensuring we make smart buying decisions, get the best value from suppliers, and manage long-term vendor relationships effectively.
You will work closely with teams from IT, Finance, Security, Legal, and Vendor Management. Your work will span end to end sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier performance planning, vendor mgmt. and process improvement. You'll also help shape how we manage supplier interface in entirety and strengthen sourcing practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing strategy and commercial planning for software, SaaS, and IT consulting
- Review spend regularly to identify savings, consolidation, or renegotiation opportunities
- Work closely with Business Owners and Solution Managers to bring their input into supplier strategy, performance, and contract planning
- Bring market view on requirements gathering, solutioning and selection process engaging stakeholders to deliver sourcing events (RFX, benchmarks, structured negotiations) and partner collaboration.
- contract closure — ensuring transparency and total value thinking (TVO)
- Lead commercial and contractual discussions in collaboration with Legal and other functions
- Track and compare actual value delivered vs. what was agreed; update contracts or scope if needed
- Ensure compliance by documenting sourcing steps and aligning with internal policies
- Continuously improve the category – refine how we segment suppliers, negotiate, and engage with internal stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
8+ years of experience in sourcing, category management, or commercial roles – preferably in software, SaaS, or IT servicesStrong commercial understanding and ability to link supplier terms to business outcomesConfident in supplier conversations and leading cross-functional sourcing discussionsComfortable working with Vendor Managers to align sourcing with performance insightsStrong analytical and communication skillsExperience working in a global, matrixed environmentBachelor’s in a technical discipline such as IT, Computer Science, or Electronics; MCA or equivalent preferred.
