Middleware Engineer

This is a new role in FNZ working within the wider Platform Infrastructure Services team and is technical in nature.

About the Role

You will be part of a team responsible for building and providing high quality timely support to ensure the availability, stability and performance of our Middleware Messaging systems.

Responsibilities

Build, upgrade & administration of Rabbit MQ.

Experience of building Apache Kafka integration would be an added advantage.

Understanding of clustering & HA setup of middleware technologies cross-site across datacentres.

Migration experience using blue-green deployment method is preferred.

Knowledge of Splunk, SQL queries & PowerShell advantageous.

The role will cover Build (Change) and Run (Support) roles for all middleware products.

The team are responsible for the administration and management of all development, UAT and pre-production environments as well as internal corporate IT systems.

Security – applications that are protected from unauthorised access and data loss. Reliability – applications that are fault tolerant with no single points of failure.

Value for money – shared core infrastructure improves application delivery and reduces costs per application.

Qualifications & Experience

1+ Year experience as a middleware admin for middleware products.

Required Skills

Experience as a middleware admin for middleware products.

Preferred Skills

Experience of building Apache Kafka integration, understanding of clustering & HA setup, migration experience using blue-green deployment method, knowledge of Splunk, SQL queries & PowerShell.
