Job description

What You'll Do :

  • Linux System Administration : Administer and maintain complex Linux operating systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Storage Management : Manage LVM (Logical Volume Manager) concepts, including file system creation, extension, and troubleshooting.
  • Multipathing : Implement and manage Multipath configurations, including validating existing setups, adding LUNs, and enabling multipath for storage connectivity.
  • Performance Optimization : Continuously monitor and ensure that performance specifications are met across all Linux servers.
  • Vulnerability Management & Patching : Evaluate and correct OS vulnerabilities by performing regular patching and updates on servers.
  • Vendor Coordination : Coordinate effectively with various vendors to resolve hardware and OS-level issues.
  • File System Management : Implement and manage log rotation, actively monitor and manage file system usage, and handle permission / ownership changes.
  • Operational Support : Implement OS-level changes as per the requirements of application teams and database teams.
  • Process Adherence : Strictly follow defined Do's and Don'ts as per SLA, adhering to both Wipro and customer process guidelines while handling Business As Usual (BAU) operations.
  • Service Management : Configure and manage essential system services such as NTP, SSH, AUTOFS, and others.
  • Troubleshooting & Recovery : Expertly fix server access and bootable issues, including resolving GRUB-related problems. Perform comprehensive OS-level troubleshooting to bring up servers efficiently.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting We're Looking For :
  • Linux Expertise : Must be highly proficient in Linux Administration.
  • LVM : Strong understanding and practical experience with LVM concepts (FS creation,

extension, troubleshooting).

  • Multipathing : Hands-on experience with Multipath concepts (validation, adding LUNs,

    • enabling multipath).

  • Performance Tuning : Proven ability to ensure performance specifications are met and

    • conduct OS-level performance tuning.

  • Security & Patching : Experience in evaluating and correcting OS vulnerabilities through patching.
  • Troubleshooting : Expert-level OS-level troubleshooting skills, including fixing server access and bootable issues (GRUB).
  • Vendor Management : Experience coordinating with different vendors for hardware and OS issues.
  • File System & Permissions : Proficiency in log rotation, managing FS usage, and changing permissions / ownership.
  • Service Management : Knowledge of managing critical services (NTP, SSH, AUTOFS).
  • Compliance : Ability to adhere strictly to SLAs and customer to Have :
  • Experience with OS migration projects.
