Role Overview We’re looking for a Multimedia Storyteller based in India who can craft powerful, visually engaging English-language news videos — from quick reels to long-form features — for India Abroad’s website, YouTube, and social platforms.
The ideal candidate is part journalist, part creator : quick with edits, confident behind the mic, and occasionally comfortable in front of the camera. The role requires close coordination with our editorial teams in the U.S. and India, and the flexibility to work U.S. Eastern Time hours.
Key Responsibilities Edit and produce short- and long-form news videos for India Abroad’s digital, YouTube, and social media platforms with accuracy, speed, and polish.
Record clear, professional voiceovers and appear on camera when needed for facetime or stand-up segments. Must be comfortable working mobile-first.
Collaborate in real time with U.S.- and India-based editors and correspondents to shape compelling visual narratives.
Manage the full production process — scripting, editing, graphics, captions, voiceover, facetime, and publishing.
Uphold brand tone, consistency, and journalistic integrity across all video formats.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Film, or related field.
2–3 years of experience in video editing or digital storytelling (newsroom experience preferred).
Freshers with strong skills may be considered for an internship.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar tools.
Clear and confident English voice; camera presence a strong plus.
Keen sense of news, timing, and visual storytelling.
Reliable high-speed internet and ability to work U.S. hours.
Contract & Compensation Type : Independent contractor (not payroll employment)
Duration : 6 months, renewable
Working Hours : U.S. Eastern Time (night shift India time)
Pay Range : Based on experience and voice / on-camera skills
