SteelonCall (SoC), a ₹670+ Cr AR Group company, is one of India's largest B2B / B2C steel e-commerce platforms, revolutionizing how India buys steel.

With a mission to digitize steel procurement across MSMEs, infra, and D2C markets, the company is targeting a ₹2,000 Cr revenue milestone by FY25-26.

To fuel this journey, SteelonCall is building a robust sourcing and supply chain backbone—anchored by deep supplier partnerships, digital efficiency, and strategic procurement leadership.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead our steel sourcing and procurement operations across India. This is a critical leadership position, responsible for managing vendor networks, driving cost-effective buying strategies, ensuring timely availability of inventory, and enabling scalable B2B / B2C procurement operations aligned with business demand.

You will work closely with category, sales, operations, and finance teams to build a high-efficiency procurement engine that balances cost, quality, availability, and working capital goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Planning
• Develop and execute centralized procurement strategies for steel (TMT, HR, CR, structural, etc.).
• Build sourcing playbooks by region, supplier, and product type based on demand analytics and margin goals.
• Lead long-term and spot buying strategies to ensure product availability at optimized landed cost.
• Vendor Development & Management
• Identify, onboard, and manage a strong network of mills, stockists, and manufacturers.
• Lead contract negotiations, MoUs, and rate finalizations across product lines and geographies.
• Build strong vendor relationships to ensure supply predictability and business continuity.
• Inventory & Demand Alignment
• Align buying plans with forecasted demand, regional sales pipeline, and buffer stock targets.
• Optimize working capital through just-in-time procurement, credit terms, and liquidation of aged stock.
• Cost Optimization & Risk Mitigation
• Continuously monitor steel pricing trends, supply-side risks, and demand signals to guide buying decisions.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives, alternate sourcing, and logistics optimization in coordination with supply chain.
• Compliance, Systems & Digital Procurement
• Ensure adherence to procurement SOPs, audit compliance, and vendor documentation.
• Lead the digitization of procurement workflows via ERP, procurement tools, and vendor portals.
• Drive data-led procurement through dashboards, pricing trackers, and deal pipelines.
• Cross-Functional Leadership
• Collaborate with Sales, Category, Logistics, and Finance teams to align sourcing with business goals.
• Report key procurement KPIs including savings %, fill rate, landed cost, vendor TAT, and margin impact.
• Mentor and lead the procurement team across zones.
