Job Title : Lead Maintenance Engineer (Electronics / Automation)
Location : Sahibabad (onsite role)
Little About the Role :
An Electronics engineer responsible for Preventive / Corrective / Breakdown maintenance of advanced, state of art Web offset printing presses and its ancillaries. The role requires hands-on technical experience with strategic planning and team coordination for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of complex automated systems. Having the ability of analyzing / rectifying faults by root cause analysis and data driven approach, with the objective of improving the machine uptime, reducing the cost on spare procurements and meet the challenges of obsolescence and life cycle expiration of the spares.
Areas of Responsibility (Key Result Areas)
Preventive Maintenance : Release PM schedules through SAP for Presses, Mailroom Equipment, CTP Equipment and machine ancillaries (e.g. Technotrans etc.), monitor its adherence in order to ensure good condition and availability of machines for Production requirements.
Breakdown / Corrective Maintenance : Attend / Analyze / Rectify the breakdowns in the machines, diagnose and resolve complex breakdowns in electronic systems, control panels, and automated machinery to minimize production downtime. This includes issues with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs, sensors, VFD (Variable Frequency Drives), servo drives, and control circuits.
Manage Spare consumption : Approve the consumption / issue of spares through SAP notifications, monitor / optimize the stock of consumable / non-consumable spares and raise SAP notifications for making purchase requisitions in order to ensure timely availability of required spares and avoiding delays.
Machine performance and Engineering MIS : Maintain machine performance reports (downtime, machine history) and ISO documents in order to provide data for audits and aid the decision making for the management.
Upgradations / Installations : Identify opportunities for process or equipment enhancements and lead automation upgrades and modifications to improve reliability, performance, and efficiency. This may involve designing or reverse engineering existing designs, if necessary. Coordinate with external agencies / OEMs to ensure timely execution of upgradations / installations (e.g. Control upgrades, development projects, new machine and ancillaries’ installation etc.), in order to meet the challenges against obsolescence and life expiry of the equipment.
Skill Development : Identify the training needs, facilitate the same with the help of management and imparting hands-on guidance to team members in order to meet the department’s skill requirements.
Qualification and Experience
B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Electronics / Instrumentation / Electrical
6 to 8 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, circuit analysis, power electronics, microcontrollers, and various communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, RS485).
Expertise in industrial automation components, including PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.), VFDs, HMIs, and sensors.
