Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized US Accountant to support our financial operations in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and US regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with month-end close, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with US GAAP.
- Process journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transaction accuracy.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations.Monitor accounts receivable, issue invoices, and follow up on outstanding balances.Ensure timely payment runs and proper documentation.Financial Reporting
Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.Support budgeting and forecasting activities.Provide insights into financial performance and trends.Compliance & Audit
Support external audits and tax filings (federal, state, and local).Ensure adherence to internal controls and company accounting policies.Maintain documentation required for regulatory compliance.Systems & Process Improvement
Work with accounting systems such as Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, or Oracle.Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and increase efficiency.Support automation and digital transformation initiatives.Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.2–5+ years of accounting experience in the US.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.Proficiency with accounting software (Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis).Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication and analytical abilities.Preferred
CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification.Experience in (industry—optional).Knowledge of US tax principles (sales tax, payroll tax, corporate tax).Experience with multi-entity or multi-state accounting.
