Job description

Key Responsibilities :

Sales & Revenue Growth :

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
  • Drive primary and secondary sales through effective planning and execution.
  • Implement sales strategies to increase product penetration and market share.

Distributor & Channel Management :

  • Appoint, manage, and develop distributors and stockists.
  • Monitor distributor ROI, stock levels, claims, credit management, and performance KPIs.
  • Ensure proper distribution network expansion across the territory.
  • Retail & Trade Management :

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retailers, wholesalers, and channel partners.
  • Conduct regular market visits to track product availability, merchandising, and competitor activity.
  • Ensure high-quality execution of visibility, trade promotions, and market activation plans.
  • Team Management (If applicable) :

  • Manage and mentor Sales Officers / Sales Representatives in the territory.
  • Conduct daily / weekly performance reviews and field coaching.
  • Build a motivated, high-performing sales team.
  • Market Insights & Reporting
  • Gather and analyse market intelligence, competitor activities, pricing trends, and customer needs.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and business reviews.
  • Provide insights to marketing and category teams for better decision-making.
  • Operational Excellence :

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and ethical standards.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, finance, and marketing teams for smooth operations.
  • Oversee execution of brand initiatives, product launches, and promotional activities.
  • Required Skills & Experience :

  • 3-8 years of FMCG sales experience
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing FMCG distribution.
  • Strong understanding of GT channels, retailer networks, and trade marketing.
  • Experience in territory mapping, route planning, and market expansion.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, sales reporting tools, and CRM systems (if applicable).
  • Key Personal Attributes :

  • Self-motivated, target-oriented, and passionate about FMCG sales.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills
