Mobile Maintenance Careers at Byrnecut
Byrnecut is one of Australia's largest underground mining contractors. We run 22 underground operations across the country: 20 in Western Australia and 2 in South Australia. We're part of the Byrnecut Group, with more than 7,000 employees.
Every one of those sites depends on its equipment. Our multi-million dollar fleet of drills, loaders, trucks and support machines works underground around the clock at many of our sites, across gold, copper, zinc and lithium, for clients including Northern Star Resources, Genesis Minerals, Gold Fields, Liontown Resources, Greatland Gold, 29Metals and Rox Resources. Keeping that fleet running is what keeps a mine producing, and that's where you come in.
Our sites are at different stages, which means variety for your career:
- Steady, established operations. Long-running mines with modern workshops and settled crews, like Jundee (since 2001) and Telfer (since 2005).
- Sites ramping up. Kathleen Valley, our largest-ever contract, is building towards full lithium production, and Golden Grove is expanding, so fleets are growing.
- New operations. In the last 12 months we've started at Gwalia and Ulysses near Leonora, and at Youanmi in the Murchison, with new fleets and new workshops to set up and look after.
That scale means more sites, more pathways and more room to move than almost anywhere else in the industry. Start as a tradesperson and there's a clear path through to supervisor, superintendent, planner or maintenance manager.
