RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical and Operational
Key Actions

Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
• To undertake projects linked to chemical regulatory expertise. Deliver high level chemical regulatory solutions in particular on the specified areas as Product Chemical Compliance or REACH/Global notifications, for instance. The delivered services include Europe and Worldwide support.
• Working knowledge of global regulations including REACH and CLP applicable to carrying out daily job function.
• To produce accurate and scientifically defendable regulatory reports where required to our TQA promise and turnaround agreed with your line manager and department objectives.
• Provide technical support and training to less experienced staff within the team to develop the skill sets and capability of the team in handling complex projects.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the current and future regulatory landscape, attending conferences to keeping up to date with developments in the appropriate laws and guidance.
• Actively participate and provide leadership in the development of the team - sharing information on the regulatory and scientific framework, technical issues and developments by face-to-face meetings, discussion groups, presentations or written communications.
• Ensure the dissemination of knowledge of regulatory information to the team, clients (when required) and other leaders within Intertek.

Operational and Quality
• To time manage and work with minimal supervision under the overall direction of Line Manager.
• Any other duties consistent with fulfilling the primary job function, supporting the department and Line Manager.
• Clear written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly convey processes, results and key messages and able to build rapport, quickly and effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build strong relationships to facilitate Intertek ASSURIS as a trusted partner for clients.
• Customer orientated; the ability to articulate thoughts clearly in a formal manner to clients
• The ability to work efficiently with high attention to detail.
• Supporting change within the team in order to meet department objectives.
• Contribute then exceed department budget targets.

• To support the department to deliver on our 5x5 strategic priorities and enablers.
• Participate on cross-departmental teams to contribute to the development or revision of departmental policies and procedures.

Business Development Support
• Support in Marketing strategies. Take technical ownership for marketing activities.
• Support business development activities by providing regulatory expertise when needed during visits to clients, through discussion and responses to new project briefs and administration.
• Work with colleagues to foster a collaborative and co-operative environment within Assuris and also, developing links with other business areas in the Group.
• Provide operational sales support identifying new projects and use a network of contacts to build new sales relationships

• Avoiding unsafe acts and follow company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
• Reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses no matter how trivial.
• Adhere to the company policies like attendance, observance of work hours, adherence to schedule, compliance with rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and directives, safety practice and use of tools and equipment.
• Follow the Zero Tolerance Policy, Company Code of Ethics, & openly supports and encourages ethical conduct while dealing with colleagues & customers.

We are Looking for You with
Qualification Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field with 5–10 years of experience in Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring and chemical regulatory compliance.
Technical Certifications DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser) and/or other dangerous goods transport certifications would be an added advantage.

• Work is undertaken for customers across the globe, so an appreciation of cultural differences and an awareness of differing regulatory requirements is essential.
• Masters or higher degree or significant experience in chemical regulatory affairs.
