Job descriptionAs a Health and Safety Engineer at Ampin Energy Transition, you will be a vital member of our team, ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel involved in our renewable energy projects across India. Your role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programs to mitigate risks and promote a culture of safety excellence within our organization. How you will contribute: - Conduct regular site inspections/audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, codes, and standards. - Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate health and safety considerations into project planning, design, and execution phases. - Maintain accurate records of safety inspections/audits, incident reports, training sessions, and other relevant documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. - Provide expert guidance and support to project teams on health and safety best practices, safe work methods, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). - Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the unique requirements of renewable energy projects. - Deliver comprehensive health and safety training programs to employees, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring they are adequately prepared to perform their duties safely. - Investigate incidents, accidents, near-misses, and safety-related concerns promptly and thoroughly, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions to mitigate recurrence. - Stay abreast of emerging health and safety trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the renewable energy industry, and incorporate them into company policies and practices as appropriate. - Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other safety-related initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive hazard identification among employees and contractors. - Liaise with regulatory authorities, industry organizations, and other external stakeholders on health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Ideal skills for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.G., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred. - 8-12 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in the renewable energy sector or related industry, with a solid understanding of construction and project management processes. - Thorough knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to renewable energy projects in India. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop practical solutions to mitigate them. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate safety-related information to diverse audiences and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications for safety management and reporting. - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. - Willingness to travel to project sites across India as needed.
