To build and strengthen our superpower, we’re on the lookout for an exceptional AI/ ML Lead Experience:- 4+ Years Location:- Bangalore Responsibilities: Build and ship - Design and implement AI-powered features end to end — from prototype to production — using commercial LLMs and foundation models (e.G. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, open-weight models). - Architect the systems around the models: retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, tool use, promptpipelines, caching, and fallback strategies. - Own model selection — evaluate trade-offs between providers and model tiers on quality, latency, cost, and reliability, and make clear recommendations. - Stay hands-on in the codebase; you will be writing andreviewing production code regularly, not just directing. Quality, evaluation, and reliability - Build evaluation harnesses and test sets so AI features can be measured, monitored, and improved over time rather than judged by vibes. - Put guardrails in place for safety, hallucination, prompt injection, and cost control. - Instrument AI features with logging and observability so failures are visible and debuggable. Lead and set direction - Set the technical direction and roadmap for AI/ML across the product, and translate ambiguous product goals into concrete technical plans. - Mentor engineers, raise the bar on AI engineering practices, and grow the team as the company scales. - Partner closely with product, design, and leadership to identify where AI creates real user value — and where it does not. - Decide when to use a commercial model off the shelf, when to fine-tune, and when (rarely) to build something custom and justify the call. - Experience: 4+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years building AI/ML-powered products that have shipped to real users. - Commercial models: Deep, practical experience working with commercial LLMs and foundation model APIs you know their strengths, limits, failure modes, and pricing. - AI architecture: Strong understanding of AI system architecture: RAG, embeddings and vector search, agents and tool use, orchestration frameworks, context management, and prompt engineering. - Evaluation mindset: A rigorous approach to evaluating AI outputs — you build eval sets and measure quality rather than relying on intuition. - Engineering: Solid general engineering skills: comfortable in a modern backend stack (e.G. Python and/or TypeScript), APIs, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD. - Hands-on leadership: You enjoy being hands-on and can lead by doing — setting direction through code, design docs, and example, not just meetings. - Startup fit: Comfortable with ambiguity and the pace of an early-stage startup; able to scope, prioritize,and ship. - Communication: Can explain AI trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders and make pragmatic recommendations.
