Job description

Crossing Hurdles is partnering with a leading AI company to find an experienced Debian Engineer for a high-impact role in managing and optimizing Debian-based systems for a fast-growing, AI-driven project.

Position : Debian Engineer

Type : Contract / Freelance

Location : Remote

Compensation : Upto 20 USD Per Hour

What You'll Do :

  • Design, configure, and maintain Debian-based systems
  • Manage packages and dependencies using APT and related tools
  • Develop and optimize deployment workflows with shell scripting
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in Debian environments
  • Integrate Debian systems into CI / CD pipelines and containerized environments
  • Enforce secure configuration standards and access controls
  • Create clear technical documentation

Requirements :

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Debian or Debian-based distributions
  • Expertise in APT package management
  • Strong understanding of Debian internals (systemd, boot processes, etc.)
  • Experience with CI / CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI / CD, etc.)
  • Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
